Welcome To Our Little German Village...

I have been dying to show you where we, my little fur ball Penny, and I now reside!
Above is a picture of our home...

Haha, just kidding...but that is the castle ruin that is less than a minute from our 130 year old barn that we have turned into a home. Our village consists of some old barns, adorable houses, rolling hills, farm animals, two cigarette machines, a restaurant, and a castle. Come along and join me for a tour!
Now, imagine you are smelling the cleanest, most pure air. You feel a slight crisp breeze on your skin and are being greeted with friendly waves and smiles by our wonderful neighbors...
Below is the path, spectacular hills and a trail the Romans marched on over a thousand years ago. This lies in front of our home.

You can't come over without checking out the castle ruin right up our road...

Below is the view of some more little villages that are nestled against the hill where the castle is perched.

Let's head back to the path behind (technically in front of) our home again...

Here are some more of our very friendly neighbors. They love carrots...Penny finds these creatures to be rather intriguing...
Thank you for stopping by for a little tour of our village! Come back soon...
Ciao, ciao for now-now!

  8. Pardon the excessive drooling my dear, but my word! It's better than I remember. I lived in Aschaffenburg as a child (I'm an army brat turned air force spouse) and I'm desperate to go back! What village is this and what base are you stationed at? A friend of mine is at Spangdahlem but she's never said it was THIS beautiful! Lucky duck you!

By the by, after immersing myself in your blog for the last couple of weeks I've redone several rooms, created many more vignettes and found EVERYTHING I've used around my house, at flea markets and Goodwill (umm, why did I ignore Goodwill for so long???) for free or nearly free. I'm loving my house again! Thanks for the inspiration honey!

  11. This is torture! As if I didn't already want to come visit. It's so incredibly gorgeous Molly! And I have to say the side profile picture of Penny is the cutest thing I've ever seen. You have to frame that! Also, in my dream world, where I have the money and time to come visit you, we will walk through this little village with our cameras yelling "Photo Opp!!" around ever corner, because seriously, wow...

  12. I found your blog looking for antique windows to turn into a coffee table and then I stumbled upon the castle pictures. The funny thing is I tell friends back home that I live in that very same castle when I first show them pictures of our home. I'm in Kusel! The internet sure makes this world a much smaller place. Your home is beautiful by the way! Tschüss!

I am no interior decorator by any means, but your rooms have inspired some of what I want to do in our house. I just need to find some of the good deals around here/nearby countries! Consider yourself Pinterest stalked! :)
