Hello fabulous friends of mine! I am so elated to share the reveal of my recycled (completely re-purposed) hall today! I had an absolute blast challenging myself to use pieces I already had to create an eclectic, bold, and elegant hallway. Do you remember what our hall looked like before?
And here it is after!
To see how I created our custom artwork and colorful chandelier, click here.
To get a tutorial on our custom painted rug, click here.
To see how we used an old book to wallpaper the back wall, click here.
Want to see our other hall transformation? Click here!
Since you can see both halls at the same time while going up our stairs, I tied them together by using stripes and a chandelier in both. Well, lets be real here, I just love stripes and chandeliers.
Thanks for coming on this little tour of our sunny recycled hall! What can you recycle and re-use in your home?
Until next time,
Love the back wall and the yellow. Very nice.

Thank you so much Katie!!!! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely Saturday!
DeleteThis is like, ridiculously awesome! You should start a "hall transformation" business! I really love it all. The chandy, the color, the paper wall...it is just awesome! Thanks for linking up and I will be featuring you next week!
ReplyDeleteKim
Thank you so much Kim! My husband said that I should have a hallway business seconds before I read your comment! Small areas are just so fun! Thank you so much and I am always inspired by your blog! Congrats on your BHG feature!
DeleteWow, your hall turned out fantastic! I love the pops of yellows and gray, those are my two favorite colors right now! I think I may try to do a stripped rug as well. And the chandelier looks amazing, what a perfect color! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kristel! I am so loving those colors too, they make me happy :) The best part is, the yellow is on small changeable things so when I like another color trend I can repaint! I hope you are having a lovely weekend!
DeleteWOW, Molly! It's gorgeous! I can't believe everything is repurposed from around the house! That's awesome! Beautiful job! I'm going to include a link back in this week's highlights! ;) Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I really, really appreciate it! I appreciate you hosting and I hope you have a very blessed day!

I agree with Katie, one of the fave hallways ever! Love, with a capital L, the sunny yellow. I just found your blog through Classy Clutter, and I think it is incredible! I just read your about me page, I used to live in Germany too. And is that an Air FOrce uniform on your husband? My hubby is Air Force too! Just became your newest follower, and I'd be flattered if you stopped by my brand new blog to take a look around. If you like what you see, follow me too!
ReplyDeletehttp://feathersandsunshine.blogspot.com. Oh, and PS- you are gorgeous!

DeleteGorgeous! I love the stripes...and yellow and black. Fresh, clean, and sassy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Melanie! I really appreciate it!
DeleteSo pretty! Did you use wallpaper paste to adhere the book pages to the wall? I seriously love this! Pinned it too!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Since I am in a rental I used double sided tape so that I would only have to touch up the paint before leaving! You could definitely use wallpaper adhesive or mod podge as well! Thank you so much!

DeleteSo cute, Molly! I love what you did with the hall. And I love how you did it so affordably!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I always have the most fun figuring things out on a budget! I hope you have a blessed day!
DeleteYour little chair is just too cute, what did you use to paint it?
ReplyDeleteI painted it black, than I used a metallic silvered-gold and rubbed over it with a rag. The paint was from Joanne's Fabrics but the label is ruined and I can''t read what it was. I think it was maybe champagne gold...
DeleteI hope you have a blessed day!
Thanks for the info and the inspiration.

You are so welcome!!
DeleteI just read your response to one of the other comments. You're in a rental?! Wow! That makes me doubly impressed at this transformation. We're renting now, and I've never been brave enough to do such a big and bold change. Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! I try to pick neutral colors for the walls so the next tenant will like it (so I won't have to re-paint) and get colorful and playful with lighting and accessories! Light fixtures are great things to switch out because it's so easy to do and makes the BIGGEST impact on a room! Good luck! Let me know if you need any tutorials added for rentals!
DeleteOh my goodness! I love it... especially the book page wall and yellow chandelier!

ReplyDeleteP.S. Mind if I ask what's in the frame above the "B"?
Hey there! Thank you so much! There is fabric from Ikea that I framed above the B. Here is a better picture of that! http://thepoorsophisticate.blogspot.com/2012/08/recycled-hall-part-3-diy-custom-art-and.html
DeleteThank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jen! I really appreciate it. I also appreciate you stopping by! I hope you have a very blessed day!
DeleteSo gorgeous - and I liked the hallway before too. Have to confess a "red face" moment. The "L'ATELIER" sign? When I first saw it, these old eyes skipped over the ' and I thought it said "LATELIER". "Hmmm, what does that mean?" I wondered. "Like the oppositie of earlier? Maybe she's one of those people who's always late and got that as a wink to her problems with time? How cute!" Then I looked at it again - and got it.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! I snagged that sign at a thrift shop, I was so excited to discover that it meant designer (or artist's) studio! How perfect is that! The striped hall is the other hall in our house :) I have somewhat of a thing for decorating halls!
DeleteI really appreciate you stopping by and also for your very sweet comment! I hope you have a very blessed day!
Talk to you latelier!
