Buon giorno! How are ya'll doing this beautiful day! I am putzing around England with the fam-bamily at the Queen's Jubilee and having a ball with them as I always do. It sure is good to see family again since we have moved away from almost all of ours. I finally got around to posting my Kitchen Reveal! Warning.....This post is very picture heavy! Our awesome landlords have allowed us to paint all we want, change light fixtures, hang shelves etc. This is super rare for a rental home, especially ones in Germany. I am thrilled to be able to (short of remodeling) do what I want with the place. Since our kitchen is a very contemporary German kitchen, I wanted to add a little bit of vintage rustic-ness to cozy it up a bit!
Below are some before pictures, followed by many after pictures. The after pictures were taken over several days so (since I change things on a daily basis) you'll notice a few things are different!
It was purple and yellow with flowers when we moved in. The kitchen had no island or shelves.
Below is the design concept and idea board that I used to gather my thoughts on what I wanted to do in our kitchen. There are still a lot of things I will do differently in the space over time but, I wanted to set it up so it was presentable, with the things I already had, for now.
We got the shelves below from Ikea and they matched our kitchen and fit the space perfectly! It's ideal for extra storage and to display my favorite things!
I love being able to see the stripes and crystals from the hall in our kitchen.
I feel very blessed to have a gorgeous view of the German countryside out my kitchen window. I enjoy watching the wind blow the tall grass on the hills like waves in the afternoon.
My vintage tin canisters really bring out the unique colors in the antique rug we found!
We have a spiral staircase which leads upstairs in the entry of our kitchen. the bar area is directly below it.
Until I find the perfect antique metal tray to hang above my stove (and magnet recipes to) I love the robin egg blue color in the wooden one I already had.
I added the cotton branches after I did the original kitchen shoot and wanted to share!

DeleteI LOVE it! Absolutely beautiful. I'm wanting to change out our kitchen table for an island cart sort of like what you have. Small kitchens just aren't eat-in friendly! We shall have to traipse to the dining room every night for dinner!

DeleteWe lived in a small town called Eibelstadt in the 80's and I loved every minute of it! I have views of the town church tower from the living room and vineyards from the bedroom.

DeleteIt was so nice of them to allow you to renovate the house, so to speak. And it looks like you really took advantage of that opportunity! Also, that window in your kitchen is perfectly placed. Not only does it allow you to view that wonderful landscape while washing stuff in your sink, it also allows a lot of light into your kitchen during the daytime! Certainly a great perk to have.
