Happy Fourth of July ya'll! I hope you all have some epic plans for today, loaded with good food and good friends. Maybe, some of you will be working on some fun projects for around your house! The hubs and I have been working super hard on some DIY projects for some folks and I finally get to share some of them with you! I have tons of easy, inexpensive and fun DIY's for you over the next week or two, so be sure to stay tuned!! These projects are so easy, even the DIY- challenged can do these... So, no excuses folks.
I am having a complete blast working on this home at the moment, it is loaded with tons of color, charm, vintage, and industrial pieces, and the owners are an absolute blast!
We decided we wanted to create a bar that would close up and also act as storage for in the dining room. A brocante armoire from a yard-sale site was the best bet! The bar was a little over $100 and the chalkboard was nearly free... we only had to pay for the thin plywood, and chalkboard paint!
After the client painted the armoire a gorgeous shade of Annie Sloan grey, I got to work on a pallet chalkboard for them.
It is seriously the easiest project ever!!!
Here's What you need to do...
1. Paint or stain pallet a color of your choice or leave the wood as is.
2. Paint a super thin piece of plywood with chalkboard paint.
3. Once both pieces are painted, nail the chalkboard painted plywood into the pallet in the four corners.
Write or draw away! Easy as that!
I adore how it kind of has a beach-y feel to it!
We installed some inexpensive lights from Ikea, added, a bottle opener, a galvanized metal bucket, tray, and bottles of wine! Voila! A beautiful bar is made!
It looks perfect for Fourth of July Festivities as well! What projects have you been working on!???
I am off to grab a glass of champs to toast our amazing country! Ciao!

It looks really a lot better than the before!
ReplyDeleteI love the bottle opener and the bucket inside… They go really well with a bar, although those are not typically to see in a small bar!

Thank you so much! I hope you have a great day and thanks for the sweet compliment!
