Hey there! Here is a quick project I did on my friend's doorway to her bathroom... Her colors were pink, black, white and grey...she had a Hollywood glamour theme going on. This project can add whimsy to any doorway or frame.
To get a different look switch up the colors or change the materials (ie: seashells, buttons, tiny mirrors nail-heads etc.) Remember that the glass and jewels will reflect the color of the paint so it's good to stick with mostly clear colors for about $50.00. We went to Michaels and purchased jewels with a flat back, glass beads (the kind that goes at the bottom of a vase) and pearls. Get varying sizes of gems. I hand sketched the swirl motif with a pencil.

Remember,if you mess up you can cover your mistakes with the gems. I hot glued them on, making sure to overflow the jewels, see close up image above. It's a quick project that adds bling and catches everyone's eye. It also looks fantastic in patterns on furniture. To remove, scrape off with Spackle knife, re-spackle and cover with paint. I can't wait to try this with silver, grey and turquoise gems. Have fun!
